A lot of people seemed to like this post. This leads me to believe that a lot of you folks are feeling a similar level of discontent over the way things are going.

It’s rad to see that some brave souls are speaking up for the rest of us.

In case your news sources and social networking sites are blocking this from your view (and trust me, they are), there’s a REAL POLITICAL OUTCRY happening.

Some hardcore folks representing 99% of Americans set themselves up in Liberty Plaza to protest the royal shafting we’ve been getting from 1% of the country that holds the majority of the nation’s wealth.

Even if you can’t make it to the demonstration, you can still help the folks out there. They need food, warm clothes, cold-prevention medications, tarps, and all the other things you might imagine that one would need while living outdoors in New York in the fall. 

Here’s where the yarn comes into the picture.

My husband and I are putting together supplies to send to help support the protesters on the front lines.

I’m putting out the call to any knitters who are out there fighting the good fight-

IF YOU’RE OUT IN LIBERTY PLAZA, AND YOU NEED YARN, KNITTING NEEDLES, CROCHET HOOKS, OR ANY OTHER FIBER SUPPLIES, OR YOU KNOW ANY OTHER PROTESTER WHO DOES, SEND ME A MESSAGE HERE. I’LL DO MY PART TO MAKE SURE YOU GET WHAT YOU NEED.

And for everyone else- please spread the word about what’s happening, head down to the demonstration, or just show some support to the cause. This one does pertain to you.

I think that we all know too many people who can’t find work, who have lost their homes, who have fought in wars overseas, who have rising expenses, with stagnant income, who lack health insurance, who feel invisible and cheated by the system they’ve supported, or who are just plain hurting financially.

We all have voices, and they are valid and powerful.

The question we all need to ask ourselves is, if we can use our collective voices make things better, what’s stopping us?
